HART Rail Destroying Rare Hawaiian and Migratory Endangered Species Habitat

HART Rail Destroying Rare Hawaiian and Migratory Endangered Species Habitat

The Honolulu Rail Project executed an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) that required the project to provide for Habitat Conservation Plans (HCP) when any specie so listed on the State of Hawaii or Federal Endangered Species List is/was present on the property/properties.

Before the golf courses were constructed on the Ewa Plain that re-routed many waterways and their outlets, the Honouliuli Ahupua'a
http://health.hawaii.gov/cwb/files/2013/05/Watershed-Plan.pdf ) featured a vast area defined as Inner Coastal Wetlands - which contained the convergence of two streams- the Honouliuli Stream and Kaloi Stream. Waterfowl were abundant.

Today, remnants of the inner coastal wetlands exist and there, one can witness numerous endangered species vying for protection- protection in the form of a blade of grass, a puddle of water to call their own.

The Hawaiian Coot ( https://www.fws.gov/pacificislands/fauna/HIcoot.html )  is one such endangered specie that government officials knew was there on this property all along- and "in the way" of the development.

So what actions have the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) taken to ensure the environmental protection laws for endangered species remaining on these inner coastal wetlands are adhered to and followed?  Answer is- they at USFWS are either bought off, dishonest, or just plain incompetent for the Coot is there- the Hawaiian Duck, is there, the Stilt, is there, the Pueo, is there and many, many more species in peril being ignored by the USFWS.

The rail station (where these endangered birds are still present) is being constructed in part with the use of federal grant monies- and in the contract, the federal government states it will not fund any project that destroys endangered species and their habitat without executing first, an Incidental Take Permit (ITP), and executing a HCP.

Aloha Friends;

The UHWO is trying to divide and push a false made up narrative that UHWO can not substantiate by evidence, or facts, because unlike my self over decades the UHWO insurgents have not walking the land in Honouliuli Ewa observing both barn owls and Hawaiian pueo they work as 'ohana cousins not in competition.

The UHWO has no long term field study's, or field experience in the Honouliuli Ewa 'Oahu to back up their claim Pueo vs, Barn as enemies one vs the other in habitat. This however is a bait and switch tactic not to take their responsibility to do a supplemental EIS study. Blame it on the barn yard owl so you the public no not look at the real cause of loss of pueo habitat which is  Development with out a proper EIS to mitigation on behalf of the pueo's loss of habitat which  is the real issue UHWO rather preach a false narrative and stick it to an owl and not to a Supplemental EIS UHWO and stop harassing owls on you ridiculous website preaching your false narrative for fools. This reads more like ,"Once upon a time there was a BIG BAD WOLF CALLED UHWO and its failure to do a Supplemental EIS blaming all its ills on poor defensiveness barn owls.

UHWO is subordinating breaking international law when it comes to a treaty signed by the US and other country's in protecting migratory Bird Act signed by Congress and signed by the US President, the Migratory Species Act or Treaty.

It is very strange for a Institution of Higher Learning and Education reveals it self to be wholly ignorant of basic facts that the general public are aware of ,and the UHWO so prejudges because it is extremely ill informed of the facts tring to divide our community by preaching false doctrine as a false friend of our 'ohana the pueo from the caring citizenry of our community shame on you UHWO.

Shame on UHWO;
